So, in honor of Cheesecakes everywhere…. I am going to be indulging in this decadent definition of deliciousness at The Cheesecake Factory. This picture above is their Tiramisu Cheesecake. Described simply as “Our Wonderful Cheesecake and Tiramisu Combined into one Amazing Dessert!”
What is Tiramisu? According to wikipedia.com it is “An Italian dessert consisting of layers of sponge cake soaked in coffee and brandy or liqueur with powdered chocolate and mascarpone cheese.”
Tiramisu in Italian literally means “pick me up”, and that it is sure to do. Every region of Italy has a different version of Tiramisu, so do not be surprised to find fruit, alcohol, lady fingers, sponge cake, mascarpone and so many other wonderful options when you are thinking of Tiramisu.
The Cheesecake Factory is advertising a 1/2 off every slice of cheesecake tomorrow in honor of the day. I will be sitting down to this lovely specimen.
A crust of crushed lady fingers soaked in espresso and liquor, followed by a delicious layer of lady fingers. The classic Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake makes the next layer, the top is a fabulous flavored whipped cream dusted with cocoa powder and a lovely chocolate whipped cream decoration for garnish.
What are your plans for National Cheesecake Day??? What is your favorite cheesecake?
You will see my version of the Tiramisu Cheesecake in the coming week. I can’t wait to share with you.
